Blogger Recognition Award

Thank you to Jen at Practical, By Default for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award!  It was a delightful surprise and an honor!  Pop over to her blog for some great posts on homeschooling, parenting teens, cooking, and life.

My blog’s start:

This blog was born because I became a full-time stay-at-home-mom with three children age 4 and under (all at home, all day).  When I first began thinking about writing a blog, I had very few friends and minimal adult interaction.  I was lonely, and I needed an outlet.  A place to be creative.  A place to interact with adults.  After a couple years, I finally started this blog.  My life is less lonely now, and two of my children are in school at least part of the day, but I still enjoy writing here about food, family, and faith in Jesus.

A piece of advice for new bloggers:

I’m not an expert by any means.  In fact, I’m still a pretty new blogger. So the following advice is something I’m telling myself a lot.  Here goes: Write with focused passion in as few words as possible.

Yeah… I’m still working on this.  The whole point of having this blog is to actually write something.  But I’m trying to write less fluff and more stuff.  🙂
